FYI - Some adult themes are discussed in this episode. After a break, we're back with plenty to talk about (even if it is old news). First, we'll check in on everyone's Rotten Tomatoes predictions for Avengers Endgame. We'll also take time to remember the greatness of the original Chewbacca - Peter Mayhew. We'll stick with the Star Wars theme and share thoughts on the trailer and the title reveal of Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker and discuss recent Disney Plus announcements. Finally, we'll discuss Endgame (including spoilers) and listen as Jeff makes Darth Taxus uncomfortable as revenge for texting a spoiler before he saw the movie. Actually, we were all uncomfortable, but it's still Taxus' fault. All this, plus random references to Max Headroom, Napoleon Dynamite and bad Spanish.
As of this episode, The Geek Supreme will post new episodes every other Tuesday.
It was a slow news week! So, instead of making up fake news, we just filled today's episode with games and challenges. Today's show includes geek list challenges, predicting geeky behavior, remembering Star Wars dialogue and roleplay scenarios. If that wasn't enough, today's final score tally presents us with something that has NEVER happened before! Game on!
The World Wide Web celebrated 30 years last week, and we'll dial-up some early internet memories. A new Avengers Endgame trailer is out, and Darth Taxus asks for one-word reactions to some of the some of the scenes. There is news of a new animated series surrounding Marvel's "What If" comics, so we come up with some of our own storylines. Finally, we'll react to a Twitter debate about Yoda that included Frank Oz before Darth Taxus creates his own Yoda debates. It's not St. Patrick's Day anymore, but it was on our recording date. So, expect a few references to marshmallow cereal and gold.
New details about the new Star Wars park were released last week, and we're certain we'll never want to leave that place - assuming we can get into it after it opens. We'll react to the new revelations about the rides, the food and the merchandise. Also, we'll discuss the rumored Gremlins animated television series and think about other 1980s movies that would make good cartoons. Finally, there's the CIA and their Black Panther tweets. Darth Taxus challenges us with coming up with movie technology that would be good and bad for the CIA to own. Along the way, The Geek Supreme has tasked the other contestants to work specific movie/TV/pop culture lines into their opinions.
NOTICE - Some content may be unsuitable for younger audiences. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and our last podcast of the year. We discuss the cast announcements for The Manalorian, react to the new Godzilla trailer, play a game of Holiday Geek Words, pick the best/worst movies we’ve seen this year and come up with our own “on the shelf” characters. At times, it might sound like someone spiked our eggnog.
It's Thanksgiving week, so our show is FULL of food, turkeys and geeks. In other words, Darth Taxus is turning Jeff and Regina into turkeys and letting Scott shoot at them. When that's not happening, Regina and Scott are serving Jeff geek-themed Thanksgiving dishes. Along the way, we'll discuss some Star Wars Galaxy's Edge news and take time to remember the great Stan Lee. We'll also make some Rotten Tomatoes predictions on some December movies.
ADVISORY - Some themes discussed in this week's episode might be unsuitable for younger audiences.
Disney Plus has officially been announced, along with Loki, Scarlet Witch and Cassian Andor TV shows. We'll react to those and come up with programs that should NOT be in the Disney streaming service. Speaking of Disney, they've teamed up with Google Home to provide music and sound effects for storytime. So, we'll tell some weird stories and see what sound effects come out of them.
We're off next week, so that's an excuse to celebrate Halloween early. This party is scary and a little demented. First, we'll discuss the buzz surrounding The Haunting of Hill House. Also in today's party, you'll join us for a scary guessing game and a horror character-themed edition of "F, Mary, Kill". The geeks will also react to the announcement of a Scooby Doo reboot and share the scary movies that terrified them as children. Join us, and don't forget which Han Solo mask you'll be wearing! Dennis Keithly subs for Jeff.
Want something completely different? Okay, we give you that almost every week, but today it's a host shakeup! Scott steps into Darth Taxus's chair, and Dan Zehr (Coffee With Kenobi) steps into Scott's contestant chair. This week, topics include the a new Toys 'R Us store concept, cancellation of Iron Fist, James Gunn writing Suicide Squad 2, Star Wars-themed candles, Star Wars Resistance reactions and a Holiday Special Mandalorian weapon. All that, plus a Star Wars Holiday Special trivia game!
New York City Comic-Con 2018 has come and gone, and that means...MORE TRAILERS. So, we talk about Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina trailer and DC's extended trailer for Aquaman. Plus, we check on how Vendom is doing. We now know the title for the new Star Wars live-action series (plus we got a photo) - The Mandalorian. So, we HAVE to talk about that, right? Jeff, Regina and Darth Taxus have had a chance to hear Scott's fiction podcast - The Crimson Files, and they share their thoughts on it. All this, plus fried food and puking! How can you turn away from that???
