Darkness is the theme of the day at the Fantastic Fortress (and not just because Merchman is about to see Deathly Hallows Part 2). It is Halloween week and we've filled the podcast with talk of death and darkness.

First Taylor Lymbery (The 8-bit kid) joins us to remember the days of Saturday Morning Cartoons after they all officially died on October 4th. Later, Dan Zehr of Coffee With Kenobi joins the Geek Assembly to discuss those moments when darkness falls on our favorite heroes and characters.

When do the darker stories work best? When does darkness seem meaningless or unnecessary? How do character deaths positively/negatively impact a story? We discuss those questions and more.

We'll also react to the news of a new Harry Potter story that's coming out this Halloween & find out where the infamous Scream mask came from.

Today's Geek Assembly meeting is very Star Wars focused again. This time, Justin Bolger from The ForceCast joins us to discussEmperor Palpatine's first name and other good/not-so-good names in the franchise. We'll also look back at some of the crazy rumors surrounding the prequel movies.

Fangirl is back and we get her all caught up on some of the latest Marvel and DC news - including DC's movie line-up, the Captain America 3 storyline, a female Robin rumor and the latest on the Doctor Strange casting.

Dr. Doom vs. The Muppets

Why is Dr. Doom fighting the Muppets? Clearly, you have to hear the episode to find out. It would definitely be one of the weirdest crossovers of all time (or maybe there's something weirder).

After hearing about some Jim Henson movie sequels, we take time to discuss whether or not other 1980's sequels and reboots can work - including a new Ghostbusters movie and Bill & Ted 3.
